Then a lone busboy entered through the double doors. His eyes widened at the damage to the fake shrubbery along with the dump truck load of streamers and confetti scattered on the floor. The haunted hotel ballroom had many legends told about its sordid past. The hotel manager loved to scare the bejesus out of his new hires with tales of vampire guests, invisible gremlins, and daring doppelgangers. The young man shrugged his shoulders and set to work. Suddenly a light on the biggest crystal chandelier flickered and burned out. Was it an omen, or just its time to go? With a sweeping gesture, he pulled the linen off the table and draped it onto the floor at his feet. The sigh of a dove came to his ears. He looked under the table and discovered a sleeping beauty. He thought that he recognized her from the party. She was a classic beauty with long raven black hair and skin that was olive hued. She was half falling out of her gown that was cut low in the front and back. She was practically perfect. There wasnt a flaw on her skin. Her pale face, folded arms and spread legs revealed that she was lost in deep slumber. Or maybe she was the innocent victim of a ruthless prankster. The busboy wanted to help the helpless girl, but his head gave him a red light warning. What if she was a professional party girl? What if she belonged to a gangster with an itchy trigger finger?
